New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

E-file mandate

Any tax preparers filing more than 100 tax returns must electronically file NYC returns. For more information, visit http://www1.nyc.gov/site/finance/taxes/tax-professionals-business-tax-e-file.page

Forms included in the e-file

All NYC return types, forms and supporting documents are supported for electronic filing and are automatically included in the e-file with the one exception of Form NYC-200-V, which must be paper filed.

Payment options

A balance due on Form NYC-204 or NYC-EXT can be paid via EFW or check. If the balance due is paid via check, Form NYC-200-V should be completed and mailed with a check. NYC Department of Finance requires that Form NYC-5UB estimates be paid via EFW, no exceptions. No payments are required for Form NYC-204-EZ.

To properly set up electronic funds withdrawal, bank information and a withdrawal date must be entered. If bank information is entered on federal Screen Bank, that information will transfer to NY/NYC. Otherwise, use Screen NYBank to enter account information. The withdrawal date can be entered in the Requested payment date field on Screen NYCELF, in the NY City folder. If the return is being filed after the due date, the withdrawal date must match the signature date.
