New (tax) year, new help!

Fixed Assets and UltraTax CS 2023 help is now on Help and Support. We're still moving articles, but you can find most content for the 2023 tax year there. Continue using the Help & How-To Center for tax years 2022 and older.

Partnerships doing business within the metropolitan commuter transportation district (MCTD) must file the required Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility tax (MCTMT) return. Starting with tax year 2015, partners that file as group members will use Form IT-203-GR instead of Form MTA-505. Form MTA-5 for group estimates is also obsolete; payments should be made on Form IT-2105.

To add Form IT-203-GR, select File > Client Properties > New York tab, and mark the IT-203-GR Composite checkbox. To include a partner in the group return on Form IT-203-GR-ATT-C, mark the MCMT composite filer checkbox in View > Partner Information > New York tab. Income must also be allocated or apportioned to the MCTD/partner for it to calculate Schedule C of the group return. For more information on allocating income, see 1065-NY: Allocating self-employment income to MCTD.

Use Screen NYGPmt  in the Composite folder to enter current year group estimates and Screen NYGEst to enter next year's estimates.

Forms IT-203-GR and IT-2105 cannot be filed electronically, they must be filed on paper.
